SUMMARY:Workshops ‘Mais sol, mais energia’. Next on January 19th at the Mitra Pole of the University of Évora
DESCRIPTION:The University of Évora’s Chair in Renewable Energies (CER-UÉ) ( https://www.catedraer.uevora.pt/ ) is promoting the workshop cycle MORE SUN, MORE ENERGY, on different solar energy applications, with a focus on solar photovoltaics and solar thermal. These workshops offer training on 3 topics of different solar energy applications:\n\nSolar photovoltaic irrigation.\nSolar thermal collectors for medium temperature industrial process heat production.\nSolar PV applications with advanced batteries for the residential or service domain.\n\nParticipants can attend the sessions of their interest free of charge, and gain knowledge in terms of sizing, best practices, installation, maintenance and operation in the different technological lines. Registration for each workshop is mandatory and will be available 1 month before its date, through an online form. The workshops have a face-to-face character and take place at the University of Évora facilities, benefiting from the use of full-scale technological demonstrators and direct contact with CER-UÉ researchers.\nThe workshop cycle began on December 7, 2022, with a session on solar irrigation and will run until May 31, 2023, with a total of 10 workshops.\nThis initiative results from the collaboration of two projects, – SolaQua – Accessible, reliable and affordable solar irrigation for Europe funded by the European Union through the H2020 program and – Solar Tech – Technology Transfer, funded by FEDER through the Alentejo 2020 Program.\nNext training will take place on January 19, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Mitra Pole of the University of Évora.\nThe SolaQua project (GA 952879) ( https://sol-aqua.eu/ ) has 11 partners from 7 countries and aims to exploit the high combined potential of solar resource and agriculture of these regions, boosting and consolidating the photovoltaic irrigation market, seeking to raise awareness of farmers, investors and SMEs, with a bet on irrigation with zero emissions and a cost up to 70% lower than current solutions based on fossil fuels.\nIt already provides training materials, tools, organized visits, workshops and conferences, increasing the impact of this technology to more than 150,000 farmers and 70 European SMEs.\nThe Solar Tech project (ALT20-03-0246-FEDER-000053) ( https://www.linkedin.com/showcase/solartechalt2020/ ) aims to transfer technology and knowledge in the area of solar energy and storage of thermal and electrical energy, to the business sector. The three technological lines being promoted focus on technological areas currently identified by the sector as having high added value, low cost, international marketing potential and innovative character.\nRegistration will be received on a first-come, first-served basis using the following online form: https://forms.gle/hZiqVbryXRfUM5Hy8 ( https://forms.gle/hZiqVbryXRfUM5Hy8 )\nWe count on your participation!\n
